This was an oldie, but I still think it's a goodie. It's a concept piece I made for a game I wanted to make way back when named Space Harvester. From what I recall, the premise was such: the galaxy was plunged into chaos one day as humanity, one of the foremost galactic powers, suddenly vanished without a trace. And you played as one of the few remaining humans left, who made it their mission to find their way home. You'd go from planet to planet, harvesting resources to build ships, tech, drones, and all sorts of little doodads to make the long trip back to Earth.
Appropriately, this piece depicts the player character taking their first steps onto a new planet - presumably the one you'd start the game on. I believe part of my intent was to convey the texture of the red sun there, which wound up being represented by noise. Maybe not the cleanest method, but it's what I knew at the time. The corona of the sun is a bit too blobby as well - not nearly flame-y enough.
