Gelihaunt, the Nor'easter Pokemon

This fakemon is Gelihaunt, the Nor'easter Pokemon. Gelihaunt is an Ice- and Ghost-type Pokemon, evolving from another Pokemon called Erebug. Gelihaunt resembles a moth's exoskeleton with a furry mantle and glowing, ghostly eyes in its eye sockets and rib cage. Gelihaunt also has six indigo wings that shine with an almost pearlescent glow.

Gelihaunt is somewhat of a boogeyman, being one of the few Pokemon to prey on humans. Gelihaunt live primarily in snowy areas, in particular mountains and tundras. When hunting, Gelihaunt whip up a Blizzard to sap their prey's energy over time. After the prey collapses from exhaustion, Gelihaunt moves in to feed on the lingering soul stuff. Despite its chilling appearance and behavior, Gelihaunt is still a Pokemon and desires companionship - some Pokemon Professors theorize that Gelihaunt can't see the way most can, instead identifying others by sensing their souls. Because of this, Gelihaunt only preys upon humans because it can't distinguish them from other Pokemon without being trained.

Gelihaunt is a prominent figure in northern cultures, symbolizing the New Moon. It's said that Gelihaunt was once a relative of Volcarona, but froze to death in a blizzard. When Volcarona rose to become the Sun, Gelihaunt grew envious of its warmth and rose from the dead as the New Moon. This fable actually has a bit of truth to it - Gelihaunt, much like other moth-like Pokemon, is attracted to sources of heat and light. Professors theorize that this stems from a desire for warmth in a past life.

In battle, Gelihaunt's ability is called Numbing Cold. Gelihaunt's Numbing Cold saps the strength of Pokemon that attack it, weakening their physical attacks. Gelihaunt can become quite physically bulky, boasting a base Defense of 115 and its Numbing Cold ability. Combined with the defense-boosting nature of Snow, Gelihaunt can take even an Arcanine's Flare Blitz comfortably. Gelihaunt's moveset is comprised of Ice-, Ghost-, Bug-, and Psychic-type attacks. It has no signature move, but learns powerful moves like Quiver Dance, Blizzard, and Sheer Cold by level up.

Gelihaunt's base stats are: 65 HP, 90 Attack, 115 Defense, 130 Special Attack, 50 Special Defense, and 100 Speed.
