Palmeval, the Grasping Pokemon

Palmeval is a fakemon designed by yours truly. Palmeval is a spider-like Pokemon that also resembles a giant, spooky hand - Nintendo loves its disembodied hands, after all, so I felt the design was apt. Palmeval skitters around on its five legs, moving like one would crawl their hand around with their fingers. When in combat, Palmeval can balance on the ball of webbing on its backside, rearing up to more accurately resemble a hand. While doing so, Palmeval will use its legs - fingers - to grapple and squeeze its prey while biting them with the mouth on its underside.

Creepal, Palmeval's pre-evolution, is a smaller spider-like creature with similar design motifs. Though its lacks Palmeval's hand-like combat mode, Creepal still resembles a hand, admittedly a more cartoony one, with its five legs. Creepal also draws design inspiration from the Daddy Long-Legs Spider, with its spherical body and long, thin legs.
